Sad news this morning, one of our clients has got caught on a pishing email, entering bank details thinking it was a genuine HMRC communication – perhaps not surprising when they were expecting a repayment.
Please be vigilant – check and double check the authenticity of emails from agencies like HMRC or Companies House – there are a lot circulating at present.
With grant claims being made for Government Coronavirus Support also be aware of fake emails about grants or support – you have to go into official websites run by either Government or your Local Council – no one will email you and ask for bank details.
