The Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (JRS) has been one of the mainstays of Government support for business.
Yesterday there was an important extension of the entry date of the scheme from 28 February 2020 to 19 March 2020.
Previously someone had to have been employed at 28 February to be eligible for “furlough” – now its 19 March 2020, so providing some measure of relief to those who changed jobs just before the Coronavirus outbreak took off. This would also extend the scheme to a director/shareholder starting to trade via a company after 28 February.
Also, its recently been confirmed the planned opening date for the claims portal is 20 April 2020.
