Thank you for showing interest in our Fees and Services.
This page covers services for the Yoga community and others in the Movement, Mind, Body and Therapy world. Where we use the wording “Yoga Teacher” in this page, it extends to all these disciplines.
For other business sectors, including business and personal taxation, and services locally on the Isle of Wight, please visit our parent Whitefield Tax.
We offer a selection of paid services as well as Karma Yoga basis assistance to the Yoga Community.
Although we are based on the Isle of Wight, we have long experience of working by phone and online country wide, and the kettle will be on if you are down this way and give us a call first.
Our fees for Yoga clients are discounted to our normal fee structures; however as a firm we believe in the value of our work, much the same as you undoubtedly believe in the value of yours, and to that end believe it appropriate we charge a fair and reasonable fee for what we do. We will consider cases of genuine inability to pay on merit.

Yoga Entrepreneur – from £450 + vat
This service is for businesses with more complex requirements, for example partnerships and expense sharing; more complicated studio structures; those offering trainings and retreats on a substantial scale; or those with multiple businesses and income streams.
At this level quotes are bespoke to make sure our service is tailored to your needs but as a guide will build on the fee levels set out above for Solo Yoga Teachers.
Quite often a two entity structure is appropriate, eg splitting training or retreats out to a separate business, and normally makes fees around 1.5 times the base to give you a good idea.
Most of our work is carried out on a Fixed Fee basis, with the fee agreed in advance, and subject to our Fair Use Policy.
In most cases payment is via a monthly Direct Debit.
We apply Fee Indexation for the third year we have acted for you onwards.
Our Quotation Guide gives an idea as to what is included in a Fixed Fee, subject to any specific tailored agreement between us.
Typical extras a client may need would be:
- Professional Fee Protection
- Assistance with Companies House filing, including Annual Confirmation Statement
Occasionally additional services and one off assignments need to be priced on a hourly rate: this will vary according to the complexity of the work in hand, but would typically be £125 to £250 per hour, plus VAT. Our hourly rates (all exclusive of vat) for non routine work are currently:
- £250 Principal/Director
- £125 Manager grade staff
- £50 Senior Technician grade staff
- £25 Junior Technician grade staff
We can incorporate companies for you – typical cost is £194 comprising £120 professional fee, £24 vat and £50 Companies House fee. In doing so we are charging for the professional expertise and advice in getting your company set up and established correctly, and trouble free.
Bookkeeping, VAT and MTD Income Tax Submissions
As the business taxation environment becomes more complex, particularity with Making Tax Digital, some people prefer their accountant to handle in year tasks like vat returns and MTD Income Tax submissions or periodic checks of their accounting.
We can assist in a number of ways:
- Training on using software (we recommend FreeAgent)
- A quarterly check of your accounting and tax records along with submission of returns – this is the Continuous Service we refer to above
- A full support service where you send us all your paperwork, on paper or electronically, along with giving us a bank feed, and we will do as much of your financial admin as possible.
Cost will depend on complexity and time, but as a guide:
- Quarterly check of FreeAgent and submit a VAT or MTD return – normally an addition of £50/quarter plus VAT (and priced into our Continuous Service pricing above).
- Full support service, from £100 + vat / month upwards – for these services all our quotes are bespoke and tailored to needs.
- You need to budget for the cost of software on top of the above.
Although we recommend FreeAgent we are “open platform” and will work with your choice of software and apps where possible.
VAT applies to businesses with a turnover exceeding £90,000:
- If your turnover is below this you have no VAT obligations other than being aware of VAT if your business grows.
- Over this threshold VAT at 20% needs to be paid on turnover – which is a significant cost for businesses just over the threshold level.
- Learn more about VAT in the dedicated VAT section of our website.
Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies to some Sole Traders:
- Obligations to keep digital records and file quarterly returns to HMRC.
- Progressive phase in from 2026/27 – turnover over £50,000 (basis year 2024-25).
- Thresholds drop to £30,000 for 2027/28 (basis year 2025-26), and £20,000 for 2028/29 (basis year 2026-27).
- No plans for MTD to apply to businesses with a turnover below £20,000 .
- MTD does not apply currently to Companies or Partnerships.
- Learn more about MTD in the dedicated MTD for Income Tax section of our website.
Note for both VAT and MTD thresholds are based on turnover, not profit, ie before deduction of expenses.
We realise that some people need ad hoc advice from an accountant / tax professional without the commitment of a regular accounting service.
With this in mind we offer Ask An Accountant to provide a fixed fee service for work of this nature, with fees starting from £250 + vat

- Business structure
- Succession planning
- Business plans and cash flow forecasting
- Capital Taxes such as IHT and CGT
- Buying and selling businesses, mergers and other transactions
- Regular payroll, bookkeeping and vat accounting
We can provide fixed price quotes for this work.
Our hourly rates (all exclusive of vat) for non routine work are currently:
- £250 Principal/Director
- £125 Manager grade staff
- £50 Senior Technician grade staff

- Statutory audit under Companies or Charities legislation
- Accounting for groups of companies
- Tax advisory around trusts and complex estate planning
- Stamp Duty and related issues including ATED
- Share Incentive schemes and similar, eg EIS, SEIS, Employee Share Schemes
Our fixed fee packages are priced to cover the typical service level a client needs. In any given year some clients will need more support or service, others less, and our fees balance this.
However occasionally a clients service needs, or the complexity of their requirements, will go beyond that anticipated. Rather than have a long list of exceptions or small print, we operate on a fair use basis. Where services cannot be accommodated in the fixed fee:
- We will endeavour to let clients know at the start of the engagement, or if not as early as possible.
- We will avoid unreasonable suspension or withdraw of services at short notice
- We will avoid incurring any material additional charges for clients without authorisation
- We will work collaboratively with clients to resolve the issue
Under our Terms of Business, either party can cancel the contract between us with no notice.
